The employees of the public library in Skibbereen and I picked three tasks out of their daily working routines: folding paper, scrunching paper into balls and making chains out of clips. Based on these routines, we designed and installed artworks inside the library together.
The librarians themselves gave titles to each work and to the exhibition as a whole. They also wrote and designed the brochure containing the exhibion´s texts.
When the library users asked questions, they would answer: ‘It´s art and we have made it’, handing out their brochure to anyone interested.

Las empleadas de la biblioteca pública de Skibereen y yo escogimos tres tareas de entre sus rutinas de trabajo diarias: doblar hojas de papel, hacer una bola de papel (antes de tirarla a la basura) y hacer cadenas de clips (durante una conversación telefónica por ejemplo).
Basándonos en estas rutinas diseñamos y realizamos juntos tres trabajos que posteriormente instalamos en el contexto de la misma biblioteca.
Los títulos de cada obra y de la exposición son producto de la imaginación de las bibliotecarias. La ‘brochure’ u hoja de sala también fue redactada y diseñada por las bibliotecarias, revelando sus interpretaciones personales de cada trabajo.
Cuando los usuarios de la biblioteca les preguntan (ó cuestionan) al respecto de los trabajos expuestos, las bibliotecarias contestan: ‘It´s art and we have made it’, entregando a toda persona interesada su hoja de sala.

Die Angestellten der Stadtbücherei Skibereen und ich suchten drei Aufgaben aus ihren täglichen Arbeitsroutinen heraus: Blätter falten, aus einem Blatt eine Papierkugel formen (bevor man sie in den Papierkorb wirft) und Ketten aus Büroklammern formen (während eines Telefongesprächs etwa).
Von diesen Routinen ausgehend, entwarfen und setzten wir drei Arbeiten um, die anschliessend im Bücherei-Kontext ausgestellt wurden.
Die Titel der ausgestellten Arbeiten und der Ausstellung insgesamt wurden von den Büchereiangestellten selbst vergeben. Die ‘brochure’, die während der gesamten Ausstellungsdauer auslag, wurde ebenfalls von den Büchereiangestellten geschrieben und entworfen. Sie gibt ihre persönlichen Interpretationen der Arbeiten wieder.
Wenn die Büchereinutzer sie über die ausgestellten Arbeiten befragen (oder in Frage stellen), antworten die Büchereiangestellten selbstsicher: ‘It´s art and we have made it’, und händigen jedem Interessenten ihre ‘brochure’ aus.
